i can still remembered clearly.

my very first frisbee league is during my first year of training.

i wouldn't care about how people think about me.

i'm just a player who keep standing down there without doing anything.

basically is because no matter how i run, i will always run wrongly.

best part is even though i get the disc, i will still throw it away.

who will want this kind of player?

nyp ultimates used to be the hot picks during the league.

so we were all pair up with the seniors, its called the buddy system which we had it every year.

so when people choose that person, his buddy will be selected too.

its like buy 1 get 1 free theory.

and my buddy was Bevan. =)

from what i remembered,

he was the only person there guiding me thru out my league.

i don't understand why he didn't wanna give up on me.

i kept trying, but i just couldn't get it.

lots of experienced player around me tell me whats wrong with my cut and etc

and some don't even want to tell me whats wrong, they would just shake their head.

i started to feel useless and helpless.

there's this other league game,

i still remember this point where i'm assigned to defend this guy.

i did nothing, all i did was trying my best to catch up where he's running to.

so they had a turn over and i was assigned to be the handler.

and i didn't receive a disc at all and we won that point.

my captain came and tell me that i did a good job!

i think back about that point but i almost did nothing during that point.

so i was curious, i went to ask the captain what he praised me for.

and he said, because u didn't let that guy whom u're marking to receive any disc.

i was like, you cannot praise me just because i didn't let the person whom i'm marking receive any disc what.

because i thought i really did something good.

and even when u're the handler,

the rest of the handler can simply swing around and score without me touching any disc.

all the things I've done,

i didn't expect anyone to know my presence around.

i was having a happy-go-lucky mood.

people say what i do what, people do what i also do what.

couldn't bother much also.

until my buddy said something unexpectedly infront of my team.

because my buddy is a person who can tell you alot of things about what u do wrong, what u do right etc etc.

so he start praising me infront of everyone.

although i know its just to make me feel motivated and encouraged,

but the expression from his face when he's telling the team can really make me shed tears.

there's actually someone who believes in me.

to be frank, he's the 1 who make me believe in myself too.

so i started to workharder though its too late.

i didn't get into team during my first ivp.

i was wondering...

if my buddy didn't encourage me that time,

i won't have a little standard like this today.

and with this little standard i had now,

people would start to know about me.

and so after awhile, you will slowly become the experienced player.

even if u're a experienced player, there's still alot of us to learn.

and slowly i got into the team in my 2nd ivp.

but i was injured and my performance are still not up there yet, my play time wasn't very good.

i carry this injury with me till now.

so i started to play smart by not running much.

this makes me a better player because i have a better decision making and throws.

as time goes by, my injury got slightly better.

but my play time for the upcoming tourney are still not very good.

finally, captain for the team in my last ivp.

happy? of course, we won my last ivp!

but where did all my play time went to?

whats wrong with me?

where are all the believes?

or i should say,

i shouldn't have believe myself in the first place.

passions gone.

believes gone.

feelings gone.

i don't want to walk alone anymore.

"like" always confuse 1 another and "love" always hurt 1 another.

when you like someone,
there is a limit you will reach and sometimes, you will choose to give up.
but when you love someone,
limit and giving up does not exist in your dictionary. there's only 1 way.

people tend to mix up the 2 words between like and love.
so if you unsure of the answer,
don't try to lead anyone.
because love is a power word that contain magical feeling inside.

when loving someone without letting him/her knowing it,
you will get impatient but you will know what true love are.

black cat, beef or something else?

sunday night,
went out to henderson wave again.
my palms were damn sweaty.
so we decided to leave there earlier and head to a forest which eddy told us something about it.
hahaha, indeed thrilling. but we left there even earlier.
wayne, eddy me and siwei.
the 4 of us were just roaming around SG in wayne's car without any plans.

got home superly late.
eddy told us about a story of black cat.
okay la not really a story. its more like a... i dunno what word to use.
"do u know after u saw a black cat u'll be super sway?"
lol i told him if that's true then i will be damn sway liao. coz my void deck got 1 black cat.
then he say, "u not sway enough meh?" then i was eh... true hor, i'm super sway! hmmm..

so before wayne sent me home, we dropped by along those trees which got animal faces on them.
i was eating double cheese burger in his car at that time, i was like omg below the tree got guan ying ma!
and im eating beef!!
so i quickly walk away and finish it.
guess what, after we got back to wayne's car. he told me his car got guan ying ma too.
i was like... jaw drop..

then he dropped me at my bus stop and i walk home.
i saw this black cat sitting down below my void deck.
it gave me a creep because it was around 3am+ that time.
and i can only get to sleep at around 5am+.
decided to get MC.
but.....

monday,
mom and sis couldn't wake me up.
so my mom slightly rose her voice.
and i was kinda shocked, got damn pissed and went to shower.
after that, i lock my door and went back to sweet dream~
few mins later.. "bang bang bang!"
got so shock like omg is that neccessary?
my mommy didn't knocked but she bang the door so many times like as if i've fainted in my room!
and she couldn't hear me talking to her so i have to open the door and rose my voice at her.
then she realize she bang too hard. =\
argh, couldn't bother.. and the time is 8:20+am, gonna be so damn late!

took off with my bike and guess what..
every traffic light i've reach are all green then when i reached they quickly turn red.
i was like wwttfff... why today so special. =.=
and they take their own sweet time to change back to green i swear.

finally reach my work place.. quick park my bike and wanna punch my card!

so i read all of them.
there's still this sms i sent him, in chinese.

and there was this sms from him to me,
my 1 and only sms that was from him.
which i don't think anyone from my family got receive his sms before! =P
"are you okay son?" he sent this from china last time when he was working overseas.
i was so touched that time.. because he doesnt know how to sms and he don't know english at all!

there's too many unlucky stuff happen during attachment and i'm not gonna say everything la.

after work i chiong home and got change because i'm damn hot and stinky.
cab down to BBDC for the test.
$10 for the cab and i failed the test.

today i feel guai being a good boy!
didn't go out at all just to stay home and accompany my mom.
okay i woke up at 3pm and had a bad headache.
so i bang my head against the wall for few times to control the pain. HAHAHA!

omg money always motivate me!
i just realize my working place will hire student as part timer after their 3mths attachment.
zomgss, $10+/hr is like god of fortune suddenly come knock on my door sia.
can OT like your parents company like that.
okay all these points make me drool now.

argh didn't train at all on sat.
in fact, i think i've did something which is right.
i accompanied my mom the whole day until late afternoon i went to find the rest for lunch at LOT 1.
we chatted for quite long and then went to Ben's for mini BBQ.

the girls left and Ben send them.
leaving robin and myself bibique-ing.
we then realize that ANTS have surrounded us!
those black colour with head big big and with biting ability!
ants invasion! we quickly clear everything without killing anyone of it.
then Robin chwan~ ask me a question which i seriously don't know how to answer him.
"is there a need for ants to be so big?" LOL!

so we bath and slack in Ben's room.
after sleeping with Robin, i hope what Ben said is true.
"XXX slp beside me and you see now he become so pro."
and now i can't wait for tues training!
coz i feel that i can sky anyone now!! thanks Robin Chwan~

there are 2 stories in my mind now.
"once there's a lumber jack who used his 1 and only axe to cut down trees to earn his living.
so everyday he chop 10 trees and everyday the number of trees he chopped increase.
1st day he chopped 10 trees..
2nd day he chopped 20 trees..
....
then the number start to decrease back.
5th day he chopped 40 trees..
6th day he chopped 30 trees.."

so the morale of the story is,
1.) no matter how big the forest are,
there are still limited trees.

2.) no matter how sharp the axe can be,
it will still be blunt.

i seriously find it super meaningful. =)

once there's this fisherman who earn his living by catching fishes.
so 1 day, he threw his net into the big ocean.
there is lots of fishes but there's only 1 fish the fisherman pick and let it go.

the first person he went up to is his dad, who is watching his own son playing.

obstacles are there to make wash the drain.
well, i'm not that great afterall.

so inorder to get more strike, i must learn how to bowl with the correct postures and equipment.
learning how to bowl is like taking up courses and of course, not forgetting the obstacles.
we have to overcome them.
overcome obstacles is like taking a new challenge to yourself.
the will of staying strong, or the urge of giving up.
its depends on how you decide you want them to be.
taking a break is just a fact that u're running away from something that you don't want to face.

but no matter how great we bowl, there will still be a small percentage that we won't get strike.
and this is call luck.
but remember, luck only play a small part in life.
the rest is still depend on your hardwork.
if you don't believe in your own hardwork, nobody would.

do things with confident but not arrogant.
be a good listener by not giving your own comments without letting them to finish.
forgive and forget, letting go will still be the best option when time comes.
most importantly, be yourself and not be someone that everyone wants you to be.

that is how a life are suppose to be.

i'm so proud to be the captain of the champions.
NYP, the IVP 2009 champion once again.
and finally, end of poly competition.
and maybe, end of career haha.

so many players improved so fast and took over my play time.
i'm so proud of them, seriously.
i'd rather stay cheered up and motivate my teams rather then sitting down there thinking of unnecessary stuffs.
that's something i should do.

so many people are fighting on.
no one give up in the end.

bryan, adam and me were cheering on the other side of the field.
guiding our teammates all day long.
until during finals.
they both said something randomly that kinda touch me.
you guys might not think you have said something,
but it boost a little extra motivation in me that want me to play extra harder for the team.
i self motivated by keep repeating myself that i am a secret weapon therefore i am not inside now.
"wo shi secret weapon..."

the last few points coach ask me to go in.
i guess i did what he expect me to do.
it's only a matter of play time.
its like, although its only that 2 points, but people were talking about it.
"even if you had a lot of play time but didnt do much, it doesnt mean as much as lesser play time but effective play right?"

so true.

well like what keeks have said about the secret weapon,
"proven."

okay enough of self praise.

recently my life was full of frisbee.
had NYP frisbee training/bonding camp.
i don't know, it could be my mood still swinging around that caused me pressurize.
i didn't really enjoy myself at the camp.
i'm so screwed up during the scrimmage against Shiok.
totally not myself anymore.

on the sat, we had scrimmage against shiok again.
but this time round we're playing as DK(Disc Knight).
maybe the pressure i gave myself is too much,
i got the urge to give up anytime.
and scolded back at Ben plus some childish action.

on the next sat, 14th march
ronnie talked to me on thurs, he made me felt sorry, immatured and selfish but positive at the same time.
the fire starts to burn in me once again after hearing what ronnie said.
i went to apologize to Ben and DK.
but before that, we had scrimmage against DK.

NYP 13 - DK 15
the game was totally great.
i think i can become a good mid with Dorries! hahaha!
yup we've lost, but some points we concede are quite unneccessary.
yeah we could've done better than that, i guess.

sun,
league final.
we enter quarter final and we won.
semi-final were a wake up call for my team.
we were down by 4-0 at the beginning.
but then after some disccussion and change of gameplay,
we were fighting back and with great sidelines and intensities,
we successfully fight back and won the semi-final.
12-10 or something like this.

final,
we were giving out 120% and i swear,
this was the first time i've played frisbee with everything.
i'm somehow proud of myself as a handler.
too bad Ben wasn't there to see me play!
eventually, we still lost at final la.
we were down by 2 or 3 points.
i can see some of my players crack and can't play their A game.
yet, i was very calm and still controlling the game,
but not enough i guess.
well, now i can put all my focus on NYP!

i used to worry about whether i can enter the team.
but now, i'm more like worrying about performing.
gotta work harder to enter the team and perform!

IVP is only 4 days away.

a f*cking unlucky friday i got.
rush down to ICA building to renew my passport and i reached there at 5.05pm
and they told me its close!
then went down to queensway to buy my soccer boot.
met up with eddy and his friends.
choose for so long, then found a pair that i kinda like it la.
the price is reasonable i think, $100.
so we went shopping afterward.
happily walking without noticing i wasn't holding my shoe anymore!

omfg i really cannot believe i've completed a 25km race!
the race is called Synergy and it's organized by NYP adventure club.
so there's only 3 teams from ultimate taking part.
me and edwin,
daryl and bolin
and adam and LB.

we alighted at some ulu ulu forest which we never been before.
and we were like the last 3 groups when the time starts la.
hahaha! our groups were split into 3 types.

basically adam and LB were the most fit fit 1 among us,
so they are called the Strength base a.k.a the tanker.
"They Chiong infront to reach the obstacle first. then tell us the instruction. but not very good at completing quiz. HJAHA!"

then follow by daryl and bolin's team.
they were called the agility team.
"They are... fast? but 1 of them dunno how to defend himself from a monkey! LOL!!"

finally the very last week of FYP.
really hope i won't repeat for another 3 more months. >.<> me.
i have to go to sch at 8.30am for FYP till 6pm,
den i still have work from 7pm to 3am! omg.
end up sleeping at home and couldn't wake up for KICK IT 08.
really regret for not being there to support/kick with them.
kick It 08 is a soccer competition in NYP held by Ambassadors TEAM every year.
and guess what? ultimate team got 3rd position! clap clap!

sat afternoon,
went to brewerks for UPA(ultimate player association) AGM(Annual Group Meeting).
grats to keeks for being the new president! =)
after that me, alvin, alex, ben, dorries, edwin and week wan went to cineleisure to have our lunch.
pastamania is teh b3st!
i always dislike pastamania becoz i think the food is too expensive and it cant fill up my tummy!
but of course, its not the main course which fill up my tummy,
its the apple crumble pizzas that has done its job filling up my tummy!
the taste is superb la and the price is reasonable! >.< /b

we went home coz everyone was tired already. s
o i decided to go for a haircut, the haircut was kinda common, so i wanna make something different by dying it.

i used up close to 1hr to bleach my hair, quite successfully la.
but i dun really like the colour coz its too yellowish.
so i cannot wait to replace it with my ash grey!
went to eddy's grandma place while the ash grey is still on my head.
who knows after 1hr+ of ash greying, its a failure!
my hair din turn grey at all after i wash it!

woke up at 8.30am by alvin.
was super late becoz i was suppose to meet alvin at around 8.20am.

Chapt 81,

Just got back camp diamond,
seriously the whole camp is damn fun because of the people there and not the camp itself.
reason being, the camp was not well organized, the management is not very good and there's too much last minute changes.

by right, me bolin and teng yong were the helpers and Djamal, Eliseus, hazel, lihui, wei lin, yi ling were the campers. but eliseus was down with fever so he cant make it. and teng yong...... nothing to say...

so only left me bolin djamal hazel lihui weilin and yiling.
by right i was in charge of GAMES but in the end, i got to facilitate a group thru out the whole camp which is hazel's group la.
1st day, the OGL(in charge) has to play ice breaker game with their own group people so that all of them will get to know each other better but then due to drafting of players for winter league, i cant play games and self introduce with my group people. damn sad!
i was Missing in action for the whole evening till 1 of the camper ask me whether i'm their temp or permanent in charge. lol, so irresponsible man.

the first trip was east coast park night walk.
we walk from east coast park MacDonald to changi beach park which took us for about 6hrs to reach?
there's game station in between la. my group was not as noisy as some other group but i still manage to keep the morale up and joke with them.
the first game was human untangle or something like that,
we are the last team to complete! i'm seriously not a very helpful OGL coz i seriously sucks at this kind of thing! all i can do is motivate everyone and try my best not to screw things up.
despite being the last group, my team doesn't gave up.
even though there's a casualty in my team, there's people look after one another.
its teamwork we're talking about. =)

din really sleep at all because by the time we reach sch its about 8+?
den sleep for 30mins +/- la.
go for the next activity which is the kayaking.
i couldn't find any partner in my group.
was super worried about some of them when they partner with other people which i cant look after them myself.

been damn busy again.
after that high fever, my physical and throws had deproved badly.

then come this little boy happily walking looking left and right for us, the ghost.

it's damn funny la imagine how confident that boy was den suddenly he wet his pant!

tuesday went down for training.
after 2 weeks of feeling unwell, i'm still trying my best to get back to my self form.
so glad that all juniors had improved so much.
especially xiao lun! my buddy!! did so many "layouts"(slip and fall)! haha.

professional photographer came down to take picture of all NYP sports Club.
me, alex, bolin, edwin, jamal, xiao lun and yinci were being selected to do some layout.
all of us enjoyed except for xiao lun i guess LOL!
yesterday was raining cats and dogs la, lightening was striking like free.

Chapter 78.

happy holloween to everyone..

have you ever wonder why sometimes we felt a sudden chill?

could there be someone around you?

or it is just yourself or the wind?

nobody knows except for "er hem".

here are the story eddy told me about.

eddy and friends went to some KTV lounge to have fun.

they left the place quite late and find a place to chit chat.
then they start talking about "their story",
there were this story about his friend.

john went to club with his friends and got quite high by drinking non-stop. so he decided to head home as he don't think he can drink anymore. while lying on his bed, he could feel chillness on a small area on his shin. as he was quite drunk(drunk people usually cant move around properly), he was struggling to get up to see what is it that is holding his shin. then when he get up he saw a blueish hand grabbing his shin and he quickly get up, although he was very clear at that time, and struggle his way to his parent's room and told him mom about it. but as usual, when mother see her son got drunk and start talking nonsense, they will nag and nag and nag. so his mom nagged at him while walking back with him. he got pissed and go back to his bed and start lying down again. then his mom look around his room and saw nothing. then he say " below below la!" then his mom bend down and after she get up, she change totally. she stop nagging and told him that there is nothing below also, and ask him to go back and sleep. the next morning his mom told him to follow her to temple. his son can't really remember what happened and ask her why? then she told him what she saw last night. she saw some blueish "guy" hugging his bed from below.

eddy's story,

after they chit chat finish and start going home, eddy ask 1 of his friend whether he wanna go his and stay over coz its kinda late already and he also avbit scare scare. eddy had a dog in his hse, he lay a piece of newspaper at a corner in his kitchen for his dog to pee/poo on it.

when he go to the toilet, he will walk past the newspaper.

and when he walk past the newspaper, there's something caught his attention.

he decided to check it out. he saw a scary lady face and he find something is weird with the photo. the face is so scary that make him felt chillness around him and so he quickly ask his friend to come out and see also. the lady got shoulder length hair and the face doesn't look like normal face. so they both stare at each other and start not to think that much. so eddy ask his friend to wait outside the bathroom for awhile.

then after awhile, eddy ask his friend to go back his room and wait for him coz he's going to done bathing soon. so he asked his friend to close the window first before he go back to the room.

when eddy come out, he saw the window are not close instead it's opened widely. so he asked loudly to his friend why didn't he close his window. his friend replied back saying that he did close it. den when eddy close the window himself, he stare at the newspaper for awhile and hurry up run back to his room.

the first thing he ask his friend was, "take it out leh.."

his friend didn't know what he were talking about and ask him back, "take what thing out??!"
both of them seriously have no idea what they are trying to do.
den eddy told him that the newspaper is gone!!
his friend don't believe him at first but the facial expression from eddy is damn serious. so he went out with eddy to check the newspaper again.
the newspaper is really not around anymore.
they hurry back to the room and start discussing about it.
his friend say maybe the newspaper fly out of the window?
but if the newspaper flew out the window, eddy could heard it.
so they decided not to discuss it anymore and go to sleep.
in the next morning, eddy went to the toilet and saw the newspaper there again.
he was shock and decided to read the article with his friend after they have really wake up.
the next time they woke up the newspaper is gone again, eddy's mom threw it away because the dog pee on it.
he told his mom about it then eddy's mom told him a story about his house.
a malay old lady died in his flat before eddy's family shift in.
the story was told by their neightbour.
this old was sick and was waiting for her daugther to come back to visit her,
but the daugther did not come back at all.
then the body was found dead for quite sometimes...

Chapt 77,

It’s been super super super x99 busy weeks for me.
Got to complete assembling my robot for 2 weeks but I took more than 2 weeks.
Now is 3rd week and I’ve just completed the legs. Will upload the pics soon.
My supervisor told me about my attitude towards F.Y.P.
For some personal reason, he knows my morale is super low.
I’ve been always late for project,
No motivation at all.
Lecturers report to him that they dun see me in the lab all the while.
It’s kind of stupid that when they dun see me, they thought I’m not in the lab.

I’ve read a book about confidence, its call "confidence booster workout".
What about this book?
Okay first of all, what is confidence?
Being confident means feeling positive about what u can do, and not worrying about what you can't do, but having the will to learn. Self-confidence is the oil that smoothly turns the wheels of the relationship between you, you capability - that is, your natural talents, skills and potential - and your ability to make good that capability.

This goes out to all of you, be it Frisbee people, working mates etc.
Where ever we go, we have to carry it out.

"Less confident people are afraid of being hurt and having their confidence damaged even more."

Let me continue to "The confidence SPECTRUM"
People vary in their self-view and outward manner, ranging from arrogance, at one end of the spectrum, through the well-balanced state of confidence, to low self-esteem at the outer extreme. In addition, there are a couple of intermediate states, namely supreme confidence and low self-esteem. You need to know about all of these before you can start to improve your own confidence levels.

1. Arrogance
Arrogant people assume that they will succeed at a give task. They have had success before. It is natural for them to think that success will continue to come their way. Arrogant people are disliked because they believe that they have a divine right to continued success. When a politician or business magnate falls from grace, it can very often cause great delight in others because their assumption of continued power has been shattered. The assumption is in face a belief that what was before will always be.

Supreme confidence + assumption = Arrogance

2. Supreme confidence
Supremely confident people have no doubts that they will succeed. They focus on their strength and have a keen sense of what they want, but allied to this is a powerful will - a hunger and desire to succeed 'come what may'. Each success that they attract confirms their self-worth. Their hunger and desire prevents them from becoming assumptive about success. These are the people who set the trends and break the records for others to follow. The supremely confident person believes with every cell of their being that they will succeed, but if for some reason they don't, it rarely diminishes their strong and powerful self-view that they will succeed next time.

There is a very fine line, however, between supreme confidence and arrogance. Sometimes when a person becomes too familiar with success they cross this thin dividing line. Too much success can lead to arrogance, because the person has become so used to success that they take it for granted that success will continue to occur.

The test for the supremely confident person is: can they keep renewing their relationship with success and remaining hungry for success? It is the absence of familiarity with success that keeps the supremely confident person on the right side of the line.

Confidence + belief = supreme confidence

3. Confidence
Confident people prepare to attract the outcome they seek. They focus on the strengths that they will bring to any given situation. They have had success before, and draw on those previous successes to inform them that they can attract success again. Their well of success is deep and their line of trust between themselves and their capability is strong.

Natural capability + trust = confidence

4. Self-doubt
Self-doubters tend to focus on all the things that will or could go wrong. They worry about the potential negative outcomes, because past evidence suggests that they will have a negative outcome. They focus on their own doubts rather than their own strengths. Their self-doubts are stronger than their ability to focus on their strengths, because of the impact that ‘failure’ has had on them before. They feel the pain of previous failure and are worried of having more ‘failure’ to experience. They know that they have the ability to take on the situation they face, but nevertheless these doubts hold sway. The line of trust between themselves and their capability has been disconnected.

Capability – Trust = Self-doubt

5. Low self-esteem
Self-esteem means the value that a person places upon who they are and what they do. People with low-esteem feel that it is not worth even trying to succeed, because they will fail anyway. Their opinion of themselves is low because they have resigned themselves to playing role of the losers or the victim. They believe that, in life, others win and succeed, but they don’t. they become trapped in this cycle.

Where there is low self-esteem, confidence needs careful rebuilding. This can be achieved through the person sampling small, achievable successes, so that they begin to have a relationship with success and thus with the self-confidence that says ‘I can succeed’.

Natural capability – trust – self-worth = low self-esteem

So which group do you belong to?

Our natural confidence is always affected by negative influences. What do I meant by natural confidence? We are all born with a degree of natural confidence. This gives us the ability to do without even thinking all those things that we might now think of as automatic – breathing, smiling, sleeping, seeing, hearing, walking, talking, laughing and crying. It is only when we fear we might lose on of these ‘innate’ abilities that we realize how much they mean to us in our everyday living.

The negative influences include,
1.) Blame and criticism
2.) Conformity
3.) Exclusion
4.) Competition
5.) Disappointment
6.) Perfectionism
7.) Dominance

The top 5 symptoms of blame and criticism:
1. You think that everything is your fault.
2. You become highly sensitive to criticism.
3. You expect to be told off whatever you do.
4. You blame yourself when things don’t work out.
5. You dare not take risks in case you fail.

The top 5 symptoms of conformity:
1. You put off making decisions in case you are wrong.
2. You are timid and don’t accept opportunities when they arise.
3. You judge yourself (I’m stupid!’).
4. You try too hard to please others.
5. You make decisions because you think you should, rather than because you want to.

The top 5 symptoms of exclusion:
1. You constantly ‘suck up’ to the decision-maker, so that you can be included.
2. Your confidence state is one of uncertainty, because you don’t know where you stand with others.
3. You constantly experience the feeling that you are not good enough
4. You feel resentment and jealousy that others get the opportunities and you don’t
5. You make unfortunate comparisons with those that are included.

The top 5 symptoms of competition:
1. You compare yourself with others.
2. You start to doubt you own ability.
3. You put yourself under stress and pressure to succeed, when you already trying as hard as you can.
4. You find yourself wanting to impress and get approval and confirmation from others.
5. In extreme examples, you may even use stealing, deception, lying and cheating to get what you want, because they way you usually do things does not achieve the desired result.

The top 5 symptoms of disappointment:
1. You expect things to go wrong, so you don’t even bother trying.
2. You feel that you are not good enough for something good to happen to you.
3. You grow to fear hope, in case of being let down.
4. You mistrust when things go well, feeling that something is bound to go wrong.
5. You don’t commit to relationship, for fear of being let down.

The top 5 symptoms of perfectionism:
1. You think that failure is unacceptable.
2. You won’t let others see your mistakes.
3. You anticipate and fear disapproval.
4. You have a constant need for reassurance.
5. You criticize yourself for not being perfect.

The top 5 symptoms of dominance:
1. You take on the role of ‘the victim’ and accept the blame for everything that goes wrong.
2. You give too much of yourself to others, because you think that is what they expect of you.
3. You let others walk all over you at great emotional cost to yourself.
4. You find it difficult to say no.
5. You find it difficult to value yourself, while attributing great importance to other people’s opinions of you.

Mistakes + blame = low confidence

Good work + encouragement = self-confidence

Opportunity – trust = remorse

Promise + disappointment = mistrust

“Don’t allow others to walk all over you – build your mental muscle and resist them.”

These are the most common reasons for people developing a strong fear of failure, and they are covered in turn on the following pages.

The common causes:
1. Over-protective parents
2. Fear of the unknown
3. High expectancy
4. Egotism
5. Previous failures

1. Over-protective parents
Parents who are over-protective impose strong boundaries that limit that what you can and can’t do. These boundaries are for the purposes of your safety, but serve to limit your ability to take risks and discover your own potential.

The over-protective parents genuinely want to help, because they can’t bear to see you get hurt. They want the best for you and will do anything for you, so much so that you come to rely on them, and when the going gets tough you know that they will bail you out. A good example of this occurs when young people are travelling the world; when they run out of money, they simply call their parents to ask for money to be sent to the city where they are stranded, rather than working out a solution that will resolve the problem in which they find themselves.

All of this leads the individual to the stage where they do not want to get into any situation that involves an element of risk, because they automatically wait for their parents to support them before they do anything. This then has a negative impact on their self-confidence, because they are unused to handling challenges and thus back down when things do get difficult.

2. Fear of the unknown
Frequently, fear of failure is induced by fear of the unknown. Perhaps we are attempting to do something that we have never done before, and therefore we cannot be sure what the outcome of our efforts is going to be. So we stick with the safety and security of what we know which means that no risks need to be taken and there is no chance of failure. This might mean that we ignore our instincts, which might be telling us to take a particular course of action.

For example, someone might have a great idea for a new business, but is put off initiating the idea because no one else has tried it, so therefore they think there must be something flawed in the idea. The reality is that they might very well have been the first person to have had the idea, but they don’t trust themselves enough to take it further.

A person’s instincts are designed to provide them with information that will be useful for their survival and success. A confident person will listen to this quiet inner voice and try to respond to it, whereas a person who is low on confidence will be loath to trust their instincts in case they are wrong.

Instinct – confidence = mistrust

3. High expectancy
The term ‘high expectancy’ means the anticipation or demand of certain, very positive result. This level of expectancy if very often prevalent in the world of business and work, where the demand for result can stifle creativity for the following reasons:

- To meet shareholder demand.
- Because jobs are on the line.
- Because you paid to get results.

The pressure is on for you to perform, and you dare not fail. So you remain in the comfort zone of what you know will work in order to prevent any chance of failure. This means that you may have to stifle your instinctive urges, which may be telling you to pursue and idea that has the potential to be very success, but you dare not in case you are somehow wrong.

4. Egotism
Sometimes people with big egos, who think that they are above average, have a strong fear of failure. The greater the personal ego, the greater the sense of loss can be should the unthinkable happen. This is a loss of status in the eyes of others, who will suddenly perceive that the egotistical person is not as powerful as they previously thought. Therefore egotists often make excuses for not doing something, so that they don’t have to fail and lose face.

5. Previous failures
If we have tried and failed before and been heavily criticized for it, this criticism and feeling of hurt can have a detrimental effect upon our subsequent attempts. We simply don’t want to experience the pain again, so we don’t try. Any thoughts of trying something new or experimenting with an idea are immediately linked to the pain of previous failed attempts.

thurs,
S.I.M invitational.
NYP sent out 4 teams.
S.I.M sent 3/4 teams.
SP sent 3 teams.
SMU 1 team.
a competition that i thought we will do NYP proud by getting champion,
also my first time leading the whole team thru out the whole day.
i was excited and nervous.
yinci and edwin were there to calm me down.
robin is always giving me courage.
the rest was showing me that they are ready to go in.

and off we go with a warm up match against daryl's team.
the both sides agreed to treat that game as a warm up match,
we were told not to play too hard on each other,
but things doesn't goes the way we want it to be.
they were fighting very hard.
they want to win badly,
so we decided not to put down our guard and play to our best.
we won them by 4 - 1.

2nd match,
we face S.I.M team.
we play with clearn mind and calmly,
thou there were some mistakes but we corrected it as we go on.
we won them 5 - 0.

3rd match,
we faced SP team 1,
Singapore Poly is the team we cannot afford to lose to.
we decided to play hard,
at the same time clear mind.
we won them by 5 - 1.

and we entered quarter final.
everyone played damn well,
but the juniors(yiling and hayden) seem to be quite lost thru out.
but they still played above average.
too bad i dun have enough concentration to tell them more things.

quarter final,
we face douglas team.
many seniors told us to go all out.
in order to let them learn and wake up.
although we went thru a hard time defeating own teammates in quarter final.

semi final.
we faced S.I.M 1st team.
before the match begin,
i was going around asking people to calm me down.
i was super nervous,
nervous till my tears were watering my both eyes.
i couldn't control myself.
there were thoughts in my mind during that period.
1.) calm down cs... calm down...
2.) i really could not believe i have bring my team till semifinal.
3.) tactics we can use against them.
too much things.
i really cant calm myself down.

great job to LB,
we get to offence first.
we hurdle up and said this, "let's go final together."

the match started,
the first point went very smoothly.
but the next point wasn't successful for us.
my boots split open and i can't cut properly.
so i have no choice but to change a boot. thanx to TY.
i was too nervous, i wasn't myself.
i even shouted back at Ben.
i din control the game well,
i din do my part as a captain,
i screwed the whole game.
i let my team down.
i let ben down,
i let NYP down.
time's up.
3 - 1.
and we lost.

my tears starts rolling down.
i cried not because i got a team like this.
i cried because i really screwed big time.
i cried because i really let NYP disappointed.
i cried because it was really really lucky for me to have a chance to lead a great team like this and we have got this far together, i really wanna say a big thank you to all of them.
last but not least,
after so much training i still cant perform well.
is this wat i really want? 3 years is very long.
i will have to stand up once again.
it's not over yet.
a big thanx to mark and alvin.
edwin and alex and everybody who were there for me.

next we face SP team 2(singapore poly better team),
this time round all of us were clear minded and great fighting spirit.
we can't afford to lose this round again.
this round is abit different from other games.
we played as if we are not in compy.
we don't bother about score anymore.
we win comfortably by leading them with 2 or 3 points.
7 - 4? cant remember.
we got 3rd.

i will never stop moving.
i will improve myself.
3rd is the number i hate now.
i want 1st!
i wanna bring NYP ultimate to champion!

Chapt 75,

Seriously, i got owned by my F.Y.P(Final Year Project) supervisor.
Why?
because there was this day during my F.Y.P,
i decided to update my blog due to boredness.
so i typed lots of rubbish abt singa open ah, etc etc.
because our "working" period is 8.30 - 6pm everyday,
so around 5pm+ i decided not to type any longer and wanna post it.
and here comes my supervisor, sit in front of my comp and give me some task to do.
he showed me some robot heads and ask me to design a head that looks very style.
so okay, no problem. and he close the website den suddenly my blog appear.
he tot he pressed wrong link and he was like, "eh, shit.."
move the mouse to the X and click. Ding dong, a window appear and ask him if he wanna continue to exit the browser since it is not save yet.
he click the YES button. omg rite?
the post i typed whole day is gone.
PS* the computer is kinda cock up, the post cant save at all. RAWR!!

okay back to post.

finally Singapore open is over!
although i did not really perform very well but still,
i'm quite satisfied with my performance compared to the other Major competition.
playtime increase a little. that's the best thing! =D
really! many thanks to Ben(coach) and mondster (edmund leong)(Asst. Coach).
especially mondster coz he really tell me where i did wrong and right.

NYP ultimate Stats sheet are out quite long ago, done by Ben(alone? i dunno.).
my stats aren't good at all. my throws(handling) are good!
i need to improve lots of things to improve myself.
my mentality(that's for sure), my stamina(definitely!), attitude(as in temper?) and handling!
this 2 points is something i seriously need to improve on.
people who know me well will know that i don't like to talk much during the game if we're down by lots of points. that is y my mentality din score high in the stats sheet.
i always pant a lot and will start to slow down in everything during the game if i run a lot(okay, maybe it dun have to be a lot =x). and when i pant alot(as in tired), i will start to job around and even make the team fall! yeah, its that serious! my temper! i will always lose my temper easily if my team are losing thoroughly. mondster always try to cool me down. thanx! =) eventhou my handling score quite well in the stats, i still think that they are not up there yet, as in my confidence and skill wise. i will be very pressurized if very tall guy is marking me. yeah, TALL guy and especially they are experienced! =\

this are something i've tried to change during sing open!

my Stamina are still okay, thou it is still not that good. but i seriously never anyhow run! thats 1 thing i'm quite relief! hehe. thanx to sidelines! especially edmund(not mondster)! =)
they were controlling me very well!

Handling wise still can be improve. i did overall less than 5 bad throws(i think 2 only 1 is for ben and other 1 is for tai xiang) during all the games. seriously! actually, handler position is not the place i really wanna be. i've been telling mondster that i dun wanna be the handler position but he told me something, he say that ben want me to improve on my handling and confidence, that's why i'm always that position! throwing in a raining day is another challenge lol. =\ jia you ba.

Mentality & Attitude, i did wanna give up on the team becoz of some mistakes my team did, but i asked myself that, am i good enough to do that? yeah, i have no right to say people at all. i would just listen to mondster and Ben and do what they want me to do, at the same times covered my teammates ass if possible. that's how i do it. i seriously din lose my temper except for some points. 1 was the very last game while we versus RMIT. i was asked to huck(throw a long throw) into the endzone to someone by ben. but the FIRST pass was kinda screw up by other handler(not nice to say name) and RMIT score. so all of us was being call out. its like what the fuck is that?! i calm myself down and approach mondster, he talked to me nicely. that is why the last point i can play calmly and scored sweely! =x

i nearly shed my tears for the last point i scored. first time in my frisbee life i've score so nice!
the night before i keep telling myself that tml i must play well! do layout("flying?") D's and Score. but that is 1 thing i always dream about and i din achieve it. but during this singapore open i did layout D's and 1 layout score! i swear it was not myself, i wanted to show Ben that i want more play time! thou my play time is still not that much maybe he know my injury and stamina. i hope they are true and not an excuse for being played so little. if not i will really be emo. =(

enough said, the results of our team(Disc Knight Orange) are:
1st day 1st game.
DK vs Kidlat(champion of Pool B)

we really could have win this team. we were down with 5 points at first.
we really fight back but there are still some silly mistakes we did.
afterall, they are the pool B champion. if we won them, we might be the pool B champ too! sigh.
there are 4 different pools altogether if i'm not wrong.

they can be ex champion but they are 3rd position this year.
so if we've won them, we can be 3rd position out of 22 teams!
they are seriously experienced. no comments lol.

2nd day 2nd game.

11 - 6? cant remember also.

DK vs RMIT(vietnam)
13 - 7 cant remember again. =\

overall we won 5 games and lost 2 games.
seriously i think we could be better.
we are not that bad anyway man, but we are 13th position out of 22 teams. =\
still deciding whether i should play for next year open. =\

chapt 74,

21st sept mon,

i keep reminding myself that i cant afford to skip or being late for my FYP.
i set 3 alarms everyday.
although they were all from 1 phone la. =x
i force myself up when the alarm rang at 6.32am.
end up i'm still late for lesson. =.= 8.40am(10mins late) den reach.

22nd sept tues,
woke up at 8am. lol super late.
reach sch at 9.30am.
finally a training day again as i told myself that i want to work hard in all training.
we had hat tournament that day.
hat tournament means Ben will randomly group us up and compete against each other.
so i got Djamal, Duckless, Jervis, Hazel, Yiling, Pearleen and janet.
thou we've lost in the semi final.
but most importantly is we all gain chemistry.=)

23rd sep wed,
woke up at 8am again.
i just dun get it. i set 3 alarms and i din realize that i switch them off man. -.-
woot! napfa test!
so worried for my NAPFA test coz i haven been training physical for a long time.
so i asked Alex, weekwan and LB to pace me on 2.4km.
so sorry that i got the timing wrong and make dorries to come down to pace me too.

first station: Pull up.
cool or what, TTM was there while i'm pulling siol!
morale boosting siol.
i gave all out and unexpectedly, i did 7 times. Lol.

second station: Shutter run.
okay i dun blame the shoe but the shoe is kinda slippery.
sorry alvin, not i wan to say ur shoe lousy or what la but..
abit slippery only la. =)
10.01 sec, wooo!

third station: sit up.
another morale boosting moment with TTM around.
i completed 47 sits up in a very comfortable pace.

fourth station: standing board jump.
this is gay, i haven been doing standing board jump for quite sometimes.
1st attempt: 211cm WTF i know haha!
alex, week wan and LB were there advicing me! thanx alot!!
2nd attempt: "i want to sky ben!" 225cm. zzz
they continue to ask me to go for another try!
3rd attempt: din really prepare and start to jump already. i slide alittle to the front and got 245cm.
woohoo! damn excited! they were happy for me too. damn happy! =)

fifth station: sit and reach.
the station i'm quite afraid of too.
they taught me every technic they know,

rest at home and din go to sch at all.
meet up with liwen awhile since she's nearby.
eddy called and wanna meet up with me for dinner.
so met up with him for dinner @ jurong east entertainment.
we had "1 buddy meal!" @ KFC haha,

my first paper, Wafer fabrication.

an inccident that really make me think thru it.

1.) i'm not a good captain nor i'm ready to lead the team.
2.) it doesnt matter whether i'm around, i'm not coaching anyway.
3.) the juniors does not obey/respect what i've said?
4.) its time to stop/give up on something.

all this negative thinking came to me.
some were saying, "small matter la.. relax man.."

updates on berkelah waterfall trip..
we were told that 7pm we will leave the sch.
so daryl's dad drove me, doug and daryl to AMK hub for some shopping!
we bought alot of snacks, even the big big tin biscuit also got. power man. lol.
den we went back to sch and throw disc with some juniors.
6:15pm we go back and report to our IC.
we packed everything and had dinner and waited for the bus to come...
few hrs later...
IC:"the bus is coming, he say 10mins!"
like finally can.. but..
few hrs later again...
all of us get kinda sian already so we went to bath den slack at the stadium.
haha, we even bottoms up H²O for this trip.
we even fold stars and play dai dee(prostitute version) while waiting for the bus.
guess wat, the poker decks were hide inside the medic bag man, like lol can.

after 1hr+ we went back to slp.

wat's flushing?

there are snakes like blue coral snake and spitting cobra.
so we trail marshal must becareful while doing flushing!

i enjoyed myself. we won total 3 matches out of 5! haha..

wow shit! skipped tues lesson coz woke up late, again! haha.
went to sch at 4pm, late for meeting also!
called ting yu and why why along becoz i tot every helper gotta attend the meeting!

today's training was kinda bored.
the turn up is still soooo great.
while the juniors are playing thier games, coach and seniors talking at 1 corner..

let me update some KL trip.
KL trip to me is okay la. did enjoy the trip and bla but not the competition.
somehow, i felt that i really become lousier in frisbee liao.
cant kope with the rest. sian.
feeling kinda very low morale + no confident in myself.
really feel like giving up.
many friends talk to me and gave me supports somemore i'm the captain leh.
how can say give up so easily 1. sigh!

ok, back to KL trip.
the main objective of KL trip is Malaysia Open.
some "big" event for frisbee. some kinda big competition.

more like a fee for me to gain experience or rather a fee to be a cheerleader.
my playtime was very little at KL, mayb due to my experience or standard.
every point i got sub out i will start to ask ard whether i did any mistakes not but wat i heard was, "no, u're doing good." bla bla bla.
but i was somehow "bench" thru out the game. i mean lots of point.
nobody tell me where i went wrong or wat i've done.
i was like a dumbass waiting for my turn to play. dumbass lol.

so after everything, washed up and was abt to go back to our apartment,
someone told me something. he ask me to go over and sit beside him.
"u wanna listen to something? but if u listen already will u du lan(angry)?"
den i told him that, "if i dun listen wun i be more du lan(angry)?"
so he told me la,"actually, every point u played there's a mistake in it(oh my, bullshit. -.-) bla bla bla bla(coz i think i wasnt really listening to him)"
den i cant really remember wat i did, i only remember standing up and walk away from him. y bullshit? bcoz i did ask him during games, have i done any mistakes?

so after we went back to singapore,
i told ben that im really very pissed, sian, pressure and tired.
i have enough of all this shits.
all this lousy throws, low-confident, negative thinkings and etc.
i din performed in any matches, i dun wanna be any burden seriously.
damn fucking low morales and so no motivation at all la.
so fucking depress also la.
but he told me something,
he said that, there will be a fall in every successful path.
"i'm giving u a chance now to overcome all this, i dun wish to see u give up now."
something like that. "everyone have this period, u gotta overcome it now or never."
if i quit now, i'm just running away. i will not learn anything but lose a chance.

i need to control the team and not control by them.

alex, BRO!!! a few mistakes and some drops. good cuts. handle quite well. nice patient and decision making. nice layout thou some he din really gets it. good effort i would say. gread job being the last man when defending our point and not to forget the points that u achieved. u deserve a shoe shine bro! way to go alex and of coz, without him the team will be different. ;)

alicia, great job! ran all way to end zone when transition thou the disc din fire to u. u cut all the way back for the disc when u knows the disc din fire to u. thats 1 point. the rest of the game wasnt really bad thou there r some mistakes too la. u're that threatening that the smu "69" guy have to layout on ur disc but bang on u instead. way to go alicia! without u the team will be different. ;)

alvin, BRATHER!!! attempted layout Ds but din really hit any disc thou but great effort! u boost the whole team morale! control the game well, few mistakes thou. great D and fucking nice sky when on defend! nice try laying out for the disc inside the endzone! u deserve that koala bear bro! not to forget the break mark by u! haha of coz without u, the team will be different. ;)

edwin, HOOO! early game wasnt urself. lots of mistakes by u and many scolding r for u too. too many mistakes that kenneth left with no choice but to ask u to stay bench for the rest of the game. u're very angry, u dun wan to give up now, u wants the disc badly, u wants to show kenneth that u can do it. u wake urself up and of coz, ben din give up on anyone. edwin hoo is back in the game and did a fucking nice layout D! great defend and u nearly got himself a callar hand. way to go edwin hoo! u proven everyone wrong. lets work hard together for the next title. and without u the team will be different. ;)

hazel, although u're new to the game but she did run alot and make herself open to get the disc pass to her. sui oh! too bad u cant celebrate with us! ur efforts is shown in the game. u made many good decision by dumping back the disc to the handlers. cutting and faking still need to improve. afterall, u deserve a 3 cheers from us! without u, the team will be different. ;)

my first driving experience.
late for 20mins. =X
lol. very kan chiong when instructor ask me to drive along the traffic.
"die car" twice and the instructor is like damn panic la sitting beside me.
"faster go behind go car."
so i step on the acceleration when i'm in gear 2 or 3.
"EH NO NOT TOO FAST!! SLOW DOWN!"
wah lao =.= so i release "abit"
"DUN! DUN RELEASE THE ACCELERATION!"
LOL!!

eddy was late and din attend today lesson coz he's still queing for his PDL.

we start off with shawn.
shawn won 5 consecutive rounds in first round cum first game.

tuesday,
went back to sch again for tactics training with ben coaching us.
hopefully by sat i will recover and we will win the final this time.

today(8 mar) suppose to wake up at 7am to go down to seng kang with alvin to see league final. but slept at 5am+ how to wake up? =X haha.

woke up and taught my cousin how to play dota.(she staying at my hse)
in my room somemore. =S
tonight she staying over again. dun wry, i'm not those type of people.
wanna go bugis take pay but end up nv.
went to play monopoly at my sis friend's hse instead.

brought my cousin and jeff along.
1 round from 11pm play till 3am+ siol.

i stuck for 2 - 3 rounds also. (won quite a lil la.)
my cousin stuck in her dream =X keep falling aslp. lol

today's national team selection is not bad.
